Defense Minister Jaromir Zuna Visits CZ

Czech Defense Minister Jaromir Zuna travelled to Uhersky Brod on Friday, March 20th to visit CZ, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of small arms and a long-term partner of the Czech Armed Forces. During his visit, he met with company management, toured the production facilities, and familiarized himself with the portfolio of firearms developed for use by the armed forces.

Upon his arrival, the Minister was welcomed by Jan Zajic, CEO of CZ and a member of the Board of Directors of its parent company Colt CZ Group; Radek Musil, CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Colt CZ Group; and Jan Holecek, Commercial Director and a member of the Group’s Board of Directors. Company management presented current market conditions, strategic directions for further development, and projects contributing to the strengthening of the Czech Republic’s defense capabilities.

The Minister of Defense praised the qualities of the Czech company. “As a former soldier, I have, of course, come across CZ products my entire life. It’s amazing that we have a company in the Czech Republic that is competitive across the globe. Your importance to our army, as well as to this region and the entire country, is undeniable,” said Jaromir Zuna.

“I would like to thank the Minister and the entire Czech Ministry of Defense for the long-standing partnership between the Czech Army and CZ. We utilize insights gained from combat deployment of our firearms to further refine their design and develop new products. Our modern rifles are among the most battle-tested firearms, thanks in part to their deployment in Ukraine. We also greatly appreciate the trust of other allied armies, including our recent success in the German Bundeswehr tender, which represents a significant achievement for the Czech defense industry. We are fully prepared to continue making contributions to the strengthening of our country’s defense capabilities,” said Jan Zajic, CEO of CZ.

CZ management thanked the minister for his support of projects involving industrial cooperation and exports activities of the Czech defense industry, including assistance provided through the Inter-Governmental Defense Cooperation Agency (AMOS). CZ currently supplies its firearms to the armed forces in dozens of countries around the world, with Ukraine being an important market where it carries out transfers of technology. Ukraine has effectively become its second domestic market.
